Post 1 - Character Guidelines and Lore
Fan Troll Guidelines
Fan Trolls must be 80% Blacks and Dark Grays. If a fan troll wears a little more of their blood color, besides their symbol, when they are Mustard and above, that's okay. Their shirt must always be black with their symbol (and the symbol must always be their blood color) and there must be no other design on the shirt. It is not acceptable for a troll to wear a different color other than their blood color above them unless they are already in a quadrant with a character of that blood color. Even then, they still have to stick to the basic rules. Sea dwellers are mostly exempt from this rule.
All trolls must have black hair, gray skin, basic colored horns. Eyes can vary depending on blood color and age. All fan trolls must have yellow eyes and gray irises- Yellow bloods can have dual colored eyes as long as neither one is the same shade of red or blue that the Captors have and, even then, the yellow blood's reason why they have heterochromia must be explained in full detail. Sweeps eight to nine can have a hint of their blood color in their iris. The pupils and irises can not be shaped like slits- they're circles. Any extra like ears, tails, wings, etc. are not accepted!
Cat-ear horns and any form of accessory tail (not just cat but any kind of creature) are now forbidden in new applications.Your troll must have one of the following blood colors (but any shade): Burgundy, Brown, Yellow, Olive, Jade, Teal, Cerulean, Indigo, Purple, Violet. Violet is only used for sea dwellers. Burgundy to Purple is only used for land dwellers. No exceptions. To check if the hex code you picked out for your troll is, indeed, the caste you intend it to be,
see this website here. Ignore everything but the Caste.
Low bloods will be the only acceptable trolls with special abilities. Mustards can use psionics and fly. Burgundy and Bronze are allowed to have special abilities, though not as devastating as psionics and I personally would prefer if they didn't have any at all. Cerulean and up can have super strength, each blood color above stronger than the one below. Violet bloods can breath under water. SGRUB abilities are not acceptable as our server has nothing to do with SGRUB.
If your troll uses a different blood color for typing (or in this case talking) then they need to have a good reason for it. A low blood posing as a high blood is unacceptable and is actually against Alternian law (and thus they wouldn't live to see Nouva). There would be no need for any troll to hide behind gray due to the fact that they aren't going to be hiding that they're a mutant blood color. However, a troll can hide behind a lower blood color for as simple a reason as studying low bloods or fighting for their rights.
Quadrants can be filled or left blank. The role play on the server can be a branch off of any other role play you've been in, so if your troll already has quadrants feel free to list them if provided with the option. The only thing you need to watch out for is filling in your quadrants with people who have not okayed to be listed as quadrants or attempting to fill in your quadrants with canon characters (our server has nothing to do with Canon Characters). In fact, any relation with a canon character, at all, is unacceptable for this role play- this means you can't use the same signs, same horns, etc.
Pertaining to your troll's lusus, your troll can not share their lusus with anyone or have more than one lusus. They can not have received their lusus after their wriggling day or they can not have never had a lusus to begin with. Their lusus can not have a different blood color than them or be of a different gender. A lusus can not have any special powers. Your troll, if Burgundy or Bronze, will be allowed to speak telepathically to their lusus (but still, I'd rather them not). Your troll can not have lost their lusus in an accident other than being killed by another troll.
If you're going to mention your troll's ancestor then you need to remember that their title (minus 'The') all have eight letters each per word used in the title. Though titles are 8 letters ancestors have six letters in both their first and last names just like their descendents and they and their descendent share their last name. The only exception to that rule was The Grand High Blood- few challenged him on that matter and those that did had lost their life. Ancestors also have the same blood color and kind of lusus. An ancestor usually has the same strife specibus as their descendent but sometimes this may differ (however rare). They also share the same abilities as their descendent; no more, no less. Quirks are the only thing that don't have to be shared between the ancestor and descendent.
Most trolls have a fairly balance personality, or a personality that leans more toward aggression or violence, at least from what we've seen. Some trolls are even psychotic or abusive. We've also seen that this tendance towards violence starts with olive bloods and increases as the Hemospectrum gets higher, resulting in purple bloods with their reputation for sometimes extremely psychotic tendencies and violet bloods who can have extremely short fuses. (PLEASE Do not go crazy and make a genocide-ridden psychotic troll from the depths of the nether whos only purpose is to kill everything it sees. That will be extremely boring and irritating after a while. -BALANCE-)
Your troll personalities may not be randomly violent, rude or overly aggressive, but they must instead have a reason to be that way (upbringing, current environment, particular situations, etc.). Your negative traits must be put into the application, but they do not have to be acted upon at all times or present at all times during your general activity on the server.
Please try to be creative with your trolls as we often look for members with long term role-play potential. Try to avoid using too many of the same character tropes. Have fun with it and make a characteristic your own instead of broadly saying something like "Shy until provoked". Instead you could say "_____ is quiet unless _______ is in danger" (sticking a friend or quadrant in there is overdone, try to be original) personalize those popular character arcs and tropes to fit your own needs and your own character. Please try to have fun with it and don't be afraid of making your troll too complex or dynamic. There's no such thing, and there's always room for potential.
To help with negative aspects, you can always check out this list of
negative personalities.
Eau Lourde Guidelines Eau Lourde must wear colored clothing based on their origin. Empire of Olde are aristocratic, the higher ups. Their colors are
different shades of blue and the details in their clothing are intricate and often vary in texture. Kingdom of Milieu
wear green and are middle-class. Their clothing doesn't have much detail and is mostly flat. Aside from any accessories, or the occasional cloak, there isn't often anything to look at. Tribe of Armadus are of the lowest class. Their clothing is usually tattered, ripped, and stained. They wear
shades of red, orange, and yellow. From time to time they would wear the fur of any land-creatures they had slain and adorned their heads with skulls and antlers. No matter the origin of which an Eau Lourde comes from, they always wear a poncho, a shirt of some sort underneath, and pants that usually end (but not always) at the shin. They never wear shoes of any sort.
There are quite a few variations between genders. Females are much stronger and taller than their male counterparts. They also have
darker skin tones (both their darkest and their lightest are darker than the
male's), longer ears, larger hips, larger fangs, and longer claws on their feet. Their lips are also more prominent, unlike males who's lips are the color of their darkest skin tone, the females lips are of the lightest. Those facts aside, all Eau Lourde have navy blue eyes, yellow irises, and a darker yellow pupil. They all have noticeable fangs and their skin is dotted with a lighter skin tone (usually found around the cheeks, eyes, ears, collar bone, shoulders, feet and hands- like gloves and socks). For their 'hair' they have light teal tendrils of various lengths- the closer the tendrils are too their skull the darker teal it gets. Their eyebrows are of the same darkest teal as their tendrils are always thick. If an Eau Lourde were to shave their tendrils off, it would reveal the same dark teal.
Relationships are that of the same of humans. They have mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, aunts and uncles, etc. Along the same lines, their love life is also more similar to humans than it is to trolls. They can fall in love with someone and may even have pups with them. The only time your Eau Lourde should have 'quadrants' is if they are in one with a troll and even then, most often, the Eau Lourde do not actually recognize quadrants as a possible 'relationship' and they would never get involved in a black relationship as they would deem it 'cheating' on their loved one.
Names of Eau Lourde are based on outer space. As in their names would sound like something a galaxy would be called, a star, or planet, etc. Eau Lourde do not usually have a middle or last name. If they were to be given a last name it would be based on an accomplishment they performed to earn it. Due to only having been given first names after birth there could be much confusion when identifying a pup if there are many others with that same name. Thus the pup usually takes on their mother's first name as their last with 'sson' or 'sgal' at the end (sson for sons, sgal for daughters) unless the mother was absent for their raising for any reason (in that case they take on the father's first name). As an example, a last name could be Quasarsgal or, after an accomplishment, Peacebringer.
Eau Lourde are normally a peaceful people, the exception being those who are Armadus who are usually aggressive in nature (on the rare occasion that an Armadus is not they are often exiled or killed by the Chieftess). Save for the Armadus, most Eau Lourde also have proper etiquette, especially those of Olde. Due to their education, they may also tend to speak very differently from the others. Olde are usually more formal, never combining words to make others such as 'don't' 'can't', etc. Milieu being more informal (and practically the opposite). Armadus can barely speak at all. They tend to grunt, leave their sentences incomplete, or talk in a 'short' manner. The following are examples:
Olde: Please, take a seat. Just do not put your feet on the couch. Thank you.
Millieu: Here, have a seat. Don't put your feet on the couch. Thanks.
Armadus: Sit. No feet there. Good.
