Helping Review
Review Process1. Start with
Declined Profiles, starting with the application at the very bottom and going up.
2. Administrators should have received a message previously on why these applications/submissions were declined. Find that message and read through all the issues we found and see if the applicants had made the proper modifications or any modifications at all.
3. Read through all modifications with the members who showed up on the TeamSpeak (link them to it or to a join.me that's showing the current profile). Make sure to go over 'What to Look For When Reviewing' as you're doing so, just to make sure you don't make a mistake!
4.
a. Are the modifications (if they made any) not aligning with our guidelines? Send the applicant, via the original review message for said profile, a review of what went wrong this time.
b. Do the modifications align with our guidelines? That's it, an administrator needs to move the profile to the Characters of Nouva forum! Make sure to make a list of all accepted profiles and send them to me when you're done with both Declined Profiles and Pending Characters.
c. Were there no modifications at all? Send me a message (with a link) to let me know and I'll handle it.
5. When all the declined profiles had been reviewed, move to
Pending Characters and start from the application at the very bottom and go up from there.
6. Does the profile match the requirements in 'What to Look For When Reviewing'?
a. If no, send them to Declined Profiles and send them a review message (see Administrator Specifics below).
b. If yes, move them to the Characters of Nouva forum!
What to Look For When ReviewingFor Fan TrollsAre they using the
proper coding provided? If the person submitting is already a member, then they must use this
code format. If an application is using the wrong code format (new applicant using a switchable character instead of an application to join the server and vice versa, or they aren't using the coding at all), then they're automatically declined and should be moved to Declined Profiles. Administrators need to properly check the coding (see Administrator Specifics).
Did they put 'Troll - Troll's Full Name' as the subject for their submission? If not, this can be fixed easily and it doesn't need to be declined. However, it should be mentioned upon a decline if there was another reason that the submission was declined so be sure to point it out to them!
Username: This should be their minecraft username. Make sure their application has this option if it's a new applicant (switchable characters do not need this as their username should already be in their mini-website-profile to the side of the profile, so make sure you're not confusing the two).
Start Location: Only new applications to the server should have these as well. If a new application doesn't have this,
it's not a reason to decline their application. We'll simply place them where ever we think they should go on the server instead. However, if they have this but don't fill in five different options,
then it can be declined depending on whether or not the options are already taken or not (hop onto the server to double-check). If one of their options are apartments, chances are there's an apartment available so there's
no reason to decline. Make sure the start locations given are not areas that are role played in and are actually temporary hives and apartments!
If it's the former then it must be declined!
Name: The first name needs to have 6 letters as does the last name! Does the name sound like a terrible joke to you? Chances are this troll may end up being a joke/spoof troll. There's no reason to decline it for it's name just yet though. If one or both of the names do not have exactly six letters,
then the application must be declined.
Gender: Can include things such as agender (it's required to give the original sex of the character), transgender (transgenders can go by specific pronouns instead but it needs to be mentioned that they are transgender and it's required to give the original sex of the character), male, female, non-binary (it's required to give the original sex of the character), genderqueer (it's required to give the original sex of the character). Asking for the original sex - this is a requirement due to future mention of a lusus or ancestor later in the profile or in-character role playing.
Dwelling: Only Violet bloods can be sea dwellers (so make sure that blood caste and dwelling match). Violet bloods can not be land dwellers (though they can hang out on land).
If the dwelling does not match the blood caste, the application is declined!
Sweeps: Should be 5 to 9 sweeps and anything in between. Decimals are fine so long as it doesn't go under 5 or over 9. Human years are not okay (but it's optional if they'd like to include a comparison so long as they include the original sweeps).
If the sweeps are under 5 or over 9, or they only include human years, then the application must be declined.
Height: 4'5" (four foot five inches) is the smallest a troll can be and 7' (seven feet) is the tallest a troll can be. A troll's height can be anywhere between the two but can not go any smaller or taller than those two heights.
If they do, the application is declined.Caste and Hex: Only acceptable castes are Burgundy, Brown (sometimes known as Bronze), Yellow, Olive, Jade, Teal, Cerulean, Indigo (not to be confused for Purple), Purple, and Violet.
If they put any other castes aside from these, then the application is declined. The hex code provided must match the caste (and picture if provided) and can not be too dark (almost black),
otherwise it's declined. To check to see if the hex matches the caste, use
this website here.
Interests and Activities: Must have at least two and both should be explained as to how and why they got into it, or anything specific (as in if they chose painting then what media of painting? Do they just enjoy looking at paintings and collect them or do they actually paint themselves?).
If they do not have any of these details, or have less than two interests/activities, then it should automatically be declined. Flarping is not allowed to be considered one of the two main interests but can be included as a third interest.
Quadrants: These do not need to be filled out but if they are, it must be first and last name, both six letters each. The names included do not have to match anyone on the server and can be original characters by that person. If any of the names include a description that is not acceptable (blood caste in most cases), or it doesn't have both a first and last name, or if any part of the names is not exactly 6 letters long,
then the application is declined. The Quadrants are not allowed to be removed from the application or modified (i.e. it must remain with 'Matesprit:, Kismesis:, etc' in it's proper code format provided) and
if they are then the application is declined.
Abilities: Things here can get a little iffy. So far there's no magic allowed and any blood color higher than Yellow can't have any special abilities (though Rainbow Drinker is acceptable for Jade bloods and only Jade bloods). Physical abilities and social abilities are fine for Olive and up and can include things like super strength, speed, etc. Keen eyesight and hearing can be used for any caste so long as there's a good explanation for it. Weapons and talents can also be included under abilities. If there are too many abilities that can be used in combat (emphasis on can- it doesn't mean that they will but if it's a possibility that they can then it counts) then some of them need to be removed. If there's a really powerful special ability for a low blood, it must have a down side (this can include repercussions). Sometimes there are sub-abilities included in certain special abilities (such as psionics) and they should not be counted in the total of abilities that can be used in combat if they're thoroughly explained.
If the abilities include magic of any kind, a blood caste above Yellow has a special ability, there isn't a decent explanation for keen senses (as to why/how they have them), they can use just about any weapon or they're a Barbie (they can do everything really well), there are too many abilities that can be used in combat, there aren't any downsides to using a powerful special ability (for Yellow or below), a low blood (Yellow or below) has super strength or something akin to a physical strength, then the profile should be declined!Personality: Should have a big ol' paragraph here and it should be about the troll and the troll alone. This can also include the troll's backstory/history but they should include a large paragraph of just their troll's personality first and foremost. When including the backstory/history, it shouldn't include anything to do with canon characters, Candy Red or Lime castes, or descriptions that go against the
guidelines. For trolls that identify as a different gender than their sex, their original sex must match their lusus but the gender they identify as does not have to. Same goes with their ancestor. Trolls should have a fairly balanced personality or should lean more towards negative. If a personality has too many positive aspects compared to negative, then it's unacceptable.
So reasons to decline would be: The personality is less than a paragraph long and includes any mention or comparison of canon characters, their personality includes another troll's personality or revolves around other people or things entirely, there's too many positive aspects in the troll's personality, the troll is completely or borderline psychotic, the backstory/history includes Lime or Candy Red castes, the backstory/history includes canon characters, the lusus has a different sex than the troll's original sex, the ancestor has a different sex than the troll's original sex, the backstory/history has anything to do with SGRUB/SBURB or humans, etc. Check the guidelines for more information on backstory/history and personality info!Description:
a. Description should always include the basics (hair color/style, skin color, horn color and shape, eye colors, etc.) and should include clothing and colors included with the clothing.
If the symbol is not on a plain black shirt (or vest, or whatever) and/or has a line or split going down the middle of their symbol (which should also be large and centered over the chest), then it should be declined. If they're wearing too much color on their clothing for their blood caste, then it should be declined. Colored accessories do not count- only colored clothing!
So colored shades, purses, jewelry, etc. are fine since they can easily be taken off but they must only be their blood color or lower, otherwise they are to be declined as well. If the troll has a tail of any kind, then it is declined. If it has cat-ears for horns, then it's also declined. Sometimes a member has
donated to the server and earned VIP Membership, which (if I do recall) unlocks all tiers for
Project FW and thus they can submit trolls that conform to Project FW guidelines for as long as their VIP Membership is running. Just remember they would have to have donated to the server rather than purchase it through the VIP Point shop or earn it through the race for VIP Membership.
b. If they included a picture rather than describe it, make sure it matches the guidelines. If the picture isn't full body then they will need to have included a description on what can't be seen in the picture.
For everything for Strifing Profile,
use this post as a reference. It is completely optional to fill in the Strifing Profile but
if the Strifing Profile form is removed from the application, whether or not they wanted to fill it in, the application must be declined! It should also be declined if any of the below do not match the requirements:
Strifing Profile - Ability: Two requirements for this one.
a. Must be mentioned somewhere else in the profile (especially under abilities) and
b. must be an actual available ability for strifing profiles. If it's not, you can ask the applicant if they would like us to include it as an official option as an ability if the ability has reasonable downsides and isn't too out there.
Strifing Profile - Traits: Must have only two traits - less than or more than is unacceptable. If they have a level four trait (Cunning, Destructive, or Cruel) then they must have a level one trait to go with it (Alert, Sharp, or Focused). Level three traits (Might and Sturdy) can not be paired together.
Strifing Profile - Flaw: Only one flaw is allowed and this flaw can not be a weakness to one of the traits chosen for the troll (i.e. they can't have Slow if they chose either Nimble or Quick for one or both of their traits).
Strifing Profile - Unflawed Strifing Chance: The troll's age (rounded if there is a decimal) + any strifing chance for the abilities + strifing chance for all traits. If they already have this filled out, double check it.
Strifing Profile - Flawed Strifing Chance: Unflawed Strifing Chance - the strifing chance for the flaw. It's not minus negative but taking away the actual stifing chance for the flaw from the total Unflawed Strifing Chance.
For Eau LourdeAre they using the
proper coding provided? If the person submitting is already a member, then they must use
this code format. If an application is using the wrong code format (new applicant using a switchable character instead of an application to join the server and vice versa, or they aren't using the coding at all), then they're automatically declined and should be moved to Declined Profiles. Administrators need to properly check the coding (see Administrator Specifics).
Did they put 'Troll - Eau Lourde's Full Name' as the subject for their submission? If not, this can be fixed easily and it doesn't need to be declined. However, it should be mentioned upon a decline if there was another reason that the submission was declined so be sure to point it out to them!
Username: This should be their minecraft username. Make sure their application has this option if it's a new applicant (switchable characters do not need this as their username should already be in their mini-website-profile to the side of the profile, so make sure you're not confusing the two).

If it's the former then it must be declined!
Name: They only really need a first name but they're allowed to include a last name. First name is always based on a galaxy/universe or something related to (spacey). Excerpt from the guidelines on last names: "If they were to be given a last name it would be based on an accomplishment they performed to earn it. Due to only having been given first names after birth there could be much confusion when identifying a pup if there are many others with that same name. Thus the pup usually takes on their mother's first name as their last with 'sson' or 'sgal' at the end (sson for sons, sgal for daughters) unless the mother was absent for their raising for any reason (in that case they take on the father's first name). As an example, a last name could be Quasarsgal or, after an accomplishment, Peacebringer." Sometimes there will be an explanation for the first name included, in which case that's fine. Explanations for last names should be included but doesn't have to be included in 'Name' particularly and can actually be included in Interests/Activities (through connection), and even in Personality.
Asking for the original sex - this is a requirement due to in-character role playing.
Years: 12 to 18 and anywhere between. Decimals are fine so long as they're not under 12 or over 18. Yes, these are human years!
Height: Eau Lourde are really bloody tall. The shortest they can be is 6'4" (six foot four inches). So far there is no cap for how tall they can be but it may be added in the future if we receive an unreasonable height in a profile.
Origin: Empire of Olde, Kingdom of Milieu, or Tribe of Armadus. This determines what kind of clothing they wear so make sure the description of the clothing matches the origin!
Relationships: Mostly the family that the Eau Lourde is leaving behind back on Wasklare. Should include the name, the relation between the characters (mother, father, sibling, friend, etc.), and where their relationship currently stands (i.e. the eau lourde and their mother don't get along, etc.). Relationships can include pets! Pets can be make-believe and inspired by other creatures, including mythical. Empire of Olde and Kingdom of Millieu would have sea creatures, Tribe of Armadus would have land/flying pets. These can not be alternated.
Personality: Should be a big paragraph describing the eau lourde's personality and that eau lourde alone. Eau Lourde are a naturally kind race aside from the Tribe of Armadus. There are few negative Eau Lourde throughout the other origins so they will mostly have positive aspects.
Description: They can either describe in full detail what they look like (colors of the clothing, style of the clothing, how long their tendrils are, what color they are, etc.) or they can include a picture. For what an Eau Lourde looks like, especially comparison between the different genders and origins, see the
guidelines.
Anything that variates from the guidelines should be declined. For everything for Strifing Profile,
use this post as a reference. It is completely optional to fill in the Strifing Profile but
if the Strifing Profile form is removed from the application, whether or not they wanted to fill it in, the application must be declined! It should also be declined if any of the below do not match the requirements:
Strifing Profile - Ability: Underwater breathing is a requirement and should already be included, in the original profile coding. Super Strength or Super Strength 2 are optional. No other kind of ability is allowed.

Regular/VIP Member Specifics• Must be on our TS server during the review and help out: Give input on whether or not you think something on a profile is unacceptable and give your reasons why and help read out-loud certain parts if you volunteered to read. You get a VIP Point for each.
• If you're on the TS during review, and we happen to come across your submission, you'll need to read all of it to us as we get to each part. You'll receive a VIP Point for each part we have you read.
• You must stay quiet if you're not the one reading a part of the application/submission out-loud but only while someone else is reading.
Administrator Specifics• Administrators must split responsibilities among each other: Send out declined review messages, move accepted/declined applications/submissions to their appropriate forums (if need be), record points for the volunteers (by website username), host a join.me (optional), check to see if the caste and hex match or if the hex is too dark, check the balance in the personality if it's a troll, record all accepted profiles (by character name), record all declined profiles (separately, by character name as well) etc.
• All administrators must contribute to the review message after it's been sent out, rotating between the review.
• All administrators must help review the current application that's being read (give input on whether or not you think something on a profile is unacceptable and give your reasons why and help read out-loud certain parts if you volunteered to read).
Sending the review message1. Login to our website.
2. Go to the Administration forum.
3. Scroll until you find the 'New Application/Member Messages' thread and click on it.
4. Copy the first provided coding in the thread (under 'Judging Application').
5. Click on the applicant/submitter's username in their mini-website-profile (to the left of their character's profile).
6. Click on the 'Send Message' button that you see on their website profile.
7. Paste the coding you copied earlier in the main body.
8. Hit the 'preview' tab and replace '(link to the character's profile)' with the actual url to their character's profile.
9. For the subject of the message, copy and paste the subject of their character's profile (it's often Troll - Troll Name, etc.).
10. Under Recipients, add all the administration on the provided list (the code you pasted for #7 has the list) one at a time. If you receive an error then just send the message and then add more recipients after (skip over #11 and go straight to #12).
11. Click the 'Create Message' button when all recipients have been added.
12. If you received an error when trying to add more recipients to the message, then you should have already sent out the message without the recipients. To add them go to 'Actions' (a drop down menu on the yellow bar), and select 'Change Participants'. Depending on whether or not it's giving you even more of an issue you'll either end up adding people one at a time (add one person and hit save) or you'll be adding multiple people at a time (make a list of people with a comma between and hit save and repeat). Sometimes you can't click save without getting an error so hitting the enter button on your keyboard before you receive it would be a good idea. Don't ask me why proboards is a butt with it sometimes because I have no idea.
Moving Applications/Submissions1. Go to either the Declined Profiles subforum or the Pending Characters subforum
2. Do not click on the thread you want to move. Instead, hover over the space between the thread icon and the name of the thread. A little white box should appear. Click that box instead!
3. On the yellow bar underneath the subforum's title, select the 'Actions' drop down menu.
4. Go to Moderate > Move > Entire thread.
5. Scroll down to Characters of Nouva. If you're declining a profile then click on the circle next to 'Declined Profiles' and click the 'Move Thread' button. If you're accepting an application, click the circle next to 'Characters of Nouva' and click the 'Move Thread' button.
